Well after a 500 mile round trip to Lowestoft with the trailer I can say that I am happy with the 200Tdi engine swap I did a couple of months ago and the gearbox/transfer box that West Wiltshire Landrovers did 24 hours ago! And I collected my dog kennel which fitted nicely on the trailer.
So, what was the third of the "bad things come in threes".
- I had a battery explode
- I had the main input shaft splines wear (and there was too much play in the transfer box), so that was changed as well.
- This evening about three miles from Reading services, the exhaust downpipe freed itself from the mainfold and left me with a very throaty sounding 110! (and I was deaf by the time I got home 70 miles later!) I did try to reconnect them but 1. It was bl@@dy hot and 2. There wasn't enough movement.
