Hello everybody
(please be patient for my english but I am Italian and I cannot speak English very well) I bought a Freelander in july 1998, I think first edition of this car,
2.0 diesel (not td4).
2 months ago engine started to whistle. I opened the bonnet and I noticed the air tube from air filter to turbine was broken.
Immediatly I ordere the new part directly from "Land Rover Italy" because in my city there is no more Land Rover official assistance.
My personal mechanic installed it but turbine was still whistling. He said maybe some dust was entered in turbine. He told me turbine works properly but it only whistles without loss of power. The cost of new turbine is very expensive, about 800 euro.
When I require power to the engine, about over 2.000 rpm, turbine starts to whistler, very similar to a dentist's drill.
There is someone with my same problem? What should I do? Please tell me your advice. thanks for help
