whoppe finally a Landie I can call my own

Yes I (well my wife and I) are now the proud owners of a Series three of questionable vintage. Apparently a base vehicle at a Nuclear Power plant for most of its life, following a stint as the boat launcher for a Dive club in the North East I recently purchased Beryl (wife's choice) to launch my boat from my friends farm which runs down to the sea.

Two years in the barren wilderness of non-Landrover ownership are beginning to melt into the background and I feel able to hold my head high once again in your company.

John and Nick (the humans) Charlie and Winnie (the dogs) Beryl (the boat launcher)

Cool!

Welcome to the club, and I guess you have an excuse for the lights glowing dim... all the time.... even when they arn't switched on ;-) Does it come with a Guiger (sp?) counter and sonar :-) I think it's the first Nuclear submarine landrover we've had in these here parts.

No problems with keeping warm or being seen in the dark then ;-)

If it does, I guess then he can find it in the shopping mall car park after hours.

Congrats on the truck, but the natives tend to get annoyed by people posting in HTML, I thought I'd point that out politely before one of the more grumpy ones moans about it ;-)

And if you ever want to buy a Defender 110 with an upgraded intercooler in a 300TDi, let me know, mine's up for sale!

On or around Tue, 25 Apr 2006 20:58:50 +0100, "Larry" enlightened us thusly:

Dom (at the unofficial) was telling me about some mine somewhere in which there's a series III (or might've been a II) which has never seen daylight since it was new - bought new, delivered, lowered down the mine and been there ever since. Apparently it's destined to stay there when it's finally retired, too...
