Cable has snapped on drivers side electric window. How hard to fix and what parts required. Is it expensive ?

Accompanied by the sound of a chisel on slate ncs, managed to produce the following words of wisdom
Are you certain it's the cable?
Some of them have a little plastic lug that holds the window, if it has been replaced in the past (by VW) then it's got a lifetime guarantee from VW.
If not, it's probably a bastard of a job.
