Hi got a 306 GTI-6 that has started cutting out when braking for junctions when the clutch is dropped. It then starts up again fine when you turn the key. also if you give it some revs in neutral, the revs will drop back down and then cut out. it idles fine though. could it be the fuel pump? it does it roughly once a week but yesterday did it constantly. any advice much appreciated

Possibly leaking Brake Servo if the effects are when you have the brake pedal pressed.
Mine did the same then it was alright. Then yesterday the timing belt snapped and it will cost me =C2=A31200. I would get it looked at ASAP.
