Celica Sunroof Creaks

Jun 05, 2006 2 Replies

Recently downgraded from a BMW company car, to my own brand new Celica (premium pack). Can't get used to all the noise though - especially the creaking sunroof. Tried padding it with tissues, lubricating the side runners with silicone grease, but it keeps coming back. On a long run it drives us mad. Any suggestions?

Also the wheel arches amplify every bit of road grit thrown against them. Is it worth putting a layer of underseal on the plastic linings?

to save weight these things were quite stripped down in the sound proofing dept. You could install some extra foam under the carpets and in the boot.

Sunroof - Personally just get Toyota to sort it - It's brand new and under warranty they should fix it.

Unfortunately when you order the premium pack the sunroof comes with it, not really needed with aircon IMO......

one suggestion - try wiping some silicon spray on the sunroof rubbers and apperture.
