At that price if it went wrong, I'd take the clutch out myself, and then ram it up the workshop manager's arse. French cars; don't you just love 'em?

Does the clutch engage at all if in gear and running if you lift the pedal up by hand? hard and iffy to do but worth a try. if so then i bet it will be the spring on the pedal that has gone. known problem from experience :)

That'd be right - then they can charge him another £40 for fixing *that* :O)

Sounds like the typical symptoms of a failed slave cylinder to me.

Sounds about right for a main dealer (for cost and results).

Next time go to a clutch specialist. Most clutch changes cost between £200 and £400.

Once you are out of warrantee there is no reason for going back to a main dealer except for a hard-to-get part.
