I had my 406 HDI checked over today, as it's chucking an occasional anti-pollution system error on the console.
Two things were flagged up - one, the crankshaft position sensor, which I suspect was misaligned when the car was built up after a clutch & flywheel change, and secondly, the EGR valve is reporting excessive flow - ie, it's most likely gummed up and sticking open.
Are EGR valves cleanable? I understand the other option is blanking it off, or forking out £70 or so to the chaps at Peugeot.
