Well, i guess i was lucky......recap
Driving along, drop of oil pressure and huge clouds of smoke and running on
3 cyl.
Yesderday i took out the 4 plugs, 3 were fine but one was black so i thought that was the cyclinder rings or simular that blew, i changed the plugs, checked the oil pump etc and fired it up.
Started ok, tickover fine, so i drove it round the block after letting it run ofor 10 min. It was running fine on all 4. Took it for a 15 mile drive today and it never missed a beat, i kept a eye on the oil pressure gauge, i could swear it was taking just that little longer to move up when cold but maybe that was me. At tickover it when hot went back to normal place on gauge.
Anyway on the way home i burried the throttle at a give way i kicked the back end out like i used too and all the way to max revs it was fine, pulled just like i do with the chicks (Ok it pulled better than i do). It didnt miss a beat as i snaked down the road.
I changed the radator too. It seems Halfrauds at the time where out of the biggest universal hose but now had them back in stock.
Guess i was lucky. I have a feeling i read the wrong engine version oil max amount last week. Damn i hate those imported manuals for hard to find car specs. Seen what too much oil can do so i count myself lucky.
