Exhaust Flange Replacement

My exhaust has just snapped in two at the point where the back and middle sections join. It rusted cleanly away right where the flange is welded on. The matching flange seems to be a bit rusty too but the rest of the exhaust seems in good condition and the clean break lets me see inside at the point where it broke and the weakness really only was in the weld.

Now apart from a full replacement it seems that I have two options for repair. The bean can one, cutting off the other flange and using Gun Gum to join the two ends seems a little inadequate since I imagine that there is a fair bit of mechanical stress at that point. Although if anyone knows better I may give it a try.

A far better solution is something I found on the web at

formatting link
which is a simplereplacement flange. Has anyone here any experience of this sort ofthing or even knows a supplier of such things in the UK. It's got to beworth a try if obtainable but where can an ordinary person get justone.

Thanks in advance for any help

When this sort of thing has happened to me I've just welded the old flange back on again. Is there any reason why you can't do this? I wouldn't have thought that the flanges themselves, rusty though they undoubtedly are, would have rusted away so much as to be useless.
