With engine management systems and all the other fancy add on stuff, immobilisers, alarms, trackers etc can they be reset to a factory default if you take it to a main dealer?

Hi Redman,
Depends very much on what alts have been made and what vehical you've got.
The best option is to go to your local dealership and give them the question, they have a hotline direct to the factory and can possibly answer the question there and then.
I would imagine that the default settings are in the management system anyway in a chip that gust needs resetting.

Many of the parameters will be reset just by removing the battery for a few minutes.

With an Audi fitted with the multi-media interface there is an option in the menu system to reset everything to factory defaults.
