I had red not dark enough, I sprayed the inside of the lens with metallic red, it was ok after that, I also lines the reflectors with solver paper, and bizarrely this was on an HA Viva too, but a saloon not van.

I just got some red gel off the sparks at work and cut it to fit the inside.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember Conor saying something like:
C&U Regs are not the MoT. Imo, if a car could be stopped and the driver charged for something that blatantly (in a safety fashion) fails the C&U Regs, it shouldn't have passed an MoT in the first place, but there you go. There's a large overlap, but many things in C&U aren't in the MoT.
