Nope it is spelt manky hairdressers car. Good thing about the rust under=20 the passeger seat is, in a vital race, if you are falling behind, a=20 swift stamp will dump a load of weight and put you right back up there. =20

not good, but I've heard of worse. Worst thing I had was on the Estelle, they said it needed =A370 of welding= =20 for the MOT, I said OK. When I got the certificate and the bill, the=20 welding was listed as =A335 he said it was a discount as I had other work,= =20 and the test done with them, and their welder did it out of hours (a guy=20 they take their work to).

A few months later, while patching up some underseal, I found a pretty=20 bad section of weetabix. Took it too my welder bloke (found him on=20 recomendation after the MOT), and once it was up on the 4 pillar he said=20 so when is the retest, told in six months time, he said so why is the=20 rotten bit you want me to repair marked with MOT crayon!!! that cost me=20 another =A360 because it had spread a lot further after being open for 6=20 months (I watched him tap, chip, grind and cut back about twice the=20 marked area to get to good clean metal).

Is my 405 Galvanised then? Its a 1993 and has no rust at all. My mates M plate 520 has the odd tiny bubble, but not my s**te old frog mobile :D

Buy yourself a mig and do it yourself. The Mini I've just got has been welded by Stevie Wonder Inc, and is pretty much the worst attempts at sticking metal to rust I have ever seen. And the previous owner paid a garage to do it all. My welding's not very good, but better than that, and a shitload cheaper.

Yep, I'll go along with that. It's not as difficult as it looks either, after a little practice. At least you know it's been done right as well. Just welded up the footwells and front crossmember on my brother's Saab 900 for the MOT. Would have cost £200+, but it cost us about £20 all in for gas, wire and some steel. Passed as well :-). Now to do the sills on the Golf...

It's actually quite good fun too, in a strange way.
