The missus's Volvo 850 headlight has a pinprick 0.5mm hole in it.
Is there anything available from Halfords etc. that can seal it satisfactorily?
Is it an MOT fail ?

I very much doubt it would be a fail unless there are obvious cracks around it [1]. I'd put a small blob of hotmelt adhesive in it to stop moisture getting in or some clear bathroom sealant.

If it is a glass lens, put some tape over the inside and fill the hole from outside with Loctite 'Glass Bond'. this cures/hardens ion the presence of UV from daylight, preferably sunlight. Remove tape when fully hardened. If it's a polycarbonate lens, use araldite to fill the hole.
I believe so. Certainly a fail if the reflector has been tarnished by ingress of water/salt.
