Hourly rate for small London garage?

What is the approx hourly rate for labour in a small (tiny) garage?

This garage on the outskirts of London.

I've been paying 35 plus VAT in Welling. Bloody good mechanic too.

in sunny Bournemouth we charge £45 an hour, but due to go up in the new year.

£30 in Horsham. Father and son setup. No complaints so far. Mike.

I got my exhaust rewelded to my cat for 30 quids last year. If you know how long that would take then you can work it from that. Did a good job too, told me it may only last six months becasue fo various other factors at play, I been driving it for 18 months now and not a blip!

Nice one George!

If access is good then 15 minutes, so that is about 120 quid an hour, mind you a little job like that, but using special gear like a mig welder would be at a higher rate than normal servicing.

It's oxy-acetylene welded, ut you can't charge much less than that can you?

I'd charge 20 quid myself.

I would charge a lot more to weld it with flame, but I probably have more experience than you, and know how to charge.

Mrcheerful

lol, right, and I was charged 30 quids.

I thought you were saying that you would charge 20 quid, if so, why did you pay 30 ??

I was in London, my exhaust fell off just by Tower Bridge. I was staying in Streatham, (South London) and the gear I had access to was in Merseyside. Got caught with my pants down as it were. My car sounded like a Spitfire driving those six or seven miles lol.

Ah! I see, and of course Merseyside rates are likely to be much lower than London.

Mrcheerful

I am aware of only one reason for that; rent prices. Oh, and I suppose council tax is a bit higher. But almost everything in London is the same price as up Norf (except beer of course, it's dearer down there)
