Sounds more like the alternator might be on its way out to me...

It could be normal- electric window motors use quite a lot of current and will cause the voltage to dip. If it was *very* noticeable then there may be a problem, perhaps a slipping alternator belt? Have you noticed any screeching when cold? There could also be a bad earth somewhere, eg a corroded earthing point.

It's normal. Applying a little silicone spray to the window seals won't hurt though.

Yes -I can vouch for that. Makes a HUGE difference on my leccy windows.

Providing the dimming isn't excessive, I'd say it's pretty normal. Do the windows struggle to go up or down? If the car is quite old, the seals could be very dry and giving the motors some grief. This will cause an excessive current draw.

You seem to be my problem solver at the minute :-) I have taken it to halfords as they are oding winter checks and the battery is functioning correctly. I guess no cause for concern afterall.

It wasn't too noticeable just took the edge of the lights a smidge. There has been no screeching when cold.

I think I just over reacted, I'm always looking for problems.

No, perfectly normal- its just the high current demand of a stalled (i.e. wound right up or down) electric window motor.

As a belt and braces man, I would suggest that if u are on ur original battery and its 5 yrs or more get a new one

Err no, you spray it in the seals round the edge of the window. Particularly the ones at the side it slides in.

I see so with the window down I spray it along the inside sills on the side and bottom and the top ?

Not quite sure what it does btw is it to help the windows go up and down freely ? so it doesn't stran to motors as much or have I got the wrong end of the broom.

The sills are the body sections which run from front to back below the doors, they have absolutely nothing to do with the windows!

You need to apply silicone grease to the windows guides, ie the slots which the window slides in at either side of the glass.

You spray it into the grooves particularly at the sides and (if you want) the top of the glass. It makes the glass slide easier so the motor gets an easier job.

Don't spray it along the bottom edge or the silicon will smear all over the glass when the window goes up and down.

Seals and sills are two very different things. Round the window is a seal.
