kangoo cambelt

if its not done any damage, then id like you to pick this Saturdays winning lottery numbers for me.

had a 53plate kangoo 1.5dci snap its cam belt today. dunno full extent yet, but anyone know if anybody ever got away with little damage, as opposed to expensive top end job?

Nah, probably just still in. 56 plates would be the turn of year 3 for it.

Another waiting for the "recommended service interval" to come up then. I don't know how car manufacturers get away with saying that the belt will last so long. They very rarely do.

There are plenty of engines out there that will out-last their recommended interval. The Ford Zetec is one to name a few. In support of your claim, however, there are the Vauxhall Ecotec's which have had to constantly have their service interval revised due to the heaps of s*it letting go. When will they learn that a water pump isn't a good item to run from such a critical item such as a timing belt :)
