Micra engine flooding: restart techniques?

Yes and no, usually they have problems before 80k, but the modded sensor and wiring loom does greatly help with the cold start performance.

Its about 55quid from the dealer.

Obviously HT system in top order first is the way to go, but I would definately do the ATS mod as well, it'll probably pay for itself in better mpg (especially on short runs) and piece of mind the thing will actually start on demand. (and not cost you 200quid in a new starter and battery which you are slowly killing)

10 secs bursts won't start it. It needs about 60 to 90 secs of cranking!

Tim,

New set of Bosch spark plugs + retro-fit wiring loom from Nissan main dealer (=A328) seems to have done the trick. It is now starting first time, every time, like it used to. Problem was that the engine management system was sending far too much fuel on cold starts, resulting in flooded engine.

Thanks everyone for your help on this. Its nice to have a "support network" in times of crisis. Bruce

Ahh just the wiring loom- fair enough! Cheap as chips that.
