Could also be the strut top bearing that's seized so the noise you hear is the spring. A CV joint would give a regular rythm clunking noise.

If it IS CV joiints, then it depends on what model/year your Mondy is.

A common problem on Mondeos apparently is the inner CV joint - which (again) apparently are only available from Fords @ £100 plus.

Outa CV joints are available from the likes of PartCo etc.

Part of the problem is the clips that hold the rubber boots - they're crap (seemingly) and come apart letting the joint run dry - and if you dont catch it soon enough, you've knackered your joints.

Hi boo

Mine done that a short while ago, on investigation (Having bought a CV joint already ££) it turned out to be the splines on the end of the drive shaft having corroded.

Was this a replacement CV joint by any chance?

I had the original CV joint go.

Its replacement also went, when the splines on the input stripped (for some= =20 reason).

Ford didn't even query the warranty claim - the garage who did the work wer= e=20 of the opinion that they'd had a dodgy batch.

Pete.
