Mondeo - A Few issues

Aquired in the last couple of months a 2001 2.0 TDDI Mondeo with 110K on clock.

I've got a cigarette lighter that's not getting power. Found the fuse box but no specific fuse for lighter. Any ideas or pointers. I know it sounds trivial but it would be handy for charging the phone etc.

Car is a bit jerky when trying to keep a steady speed ie 30 or 40, I've tried some fuel additive to clean jets etc but no change.

Get quite a bit of feedback through clutch when slightly pressed ie when moving in crawling traffic. I've been told that it's quite common but if there is an easy fix it would be great to get it sorted. Other than that the car is spot on, there's no clutch slip, it idles very smoothly, starts first time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Neil

It does tell you in the manual where the fuse should be, but it could the cigarette lighter (aka accessory socket) itself is faulty.

Could be the EGR valve sticking, as that is a classic symptom.

You shouldn't ride the clutch! But it's just a feature of hydraulic clutches, where the vibrations get transmitted back to the pedal. Only things to check is that the clutch pipe/hose is clipped in properly and not rattling against anything (esp. about the gearbox).

Are you sure you found theright fusebox? My 96 Mondy has two - the lighter fuse is in the one cunningly hidden behind the glovebox.

has a good description of how to get into it. The easy(!) way is to push the passenger seat right back then lie on your back with your head in the footwell and look up with a torch!
