Nissan Primera wheel vibration/pulling to right

Jun 18, 2004 2 Replies

Grateful for any help with this problem. I own a R reg 2.0i SE Primera with 90K on the clock - fantastic car except a few problems.

The main one is excessive pull to the right - Had tracking adjusted sort of helped but still aparent. Also there is vibration from the offside front wheel - done all of the obvious - balancing, new tyres had bearings and bushes checked can't seem to source to problem. Maybe driveshaft warped? I dont know. Finally when accelerating in 4th & 5th there is at least an inch of movement in the gear stick.

I really like this car and want to address these faults so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

I do my own '97 Primera tracking and wheel balancing, and all I can say is that it's critical and most tyre places never get it right, only barely good enough in my experience of such places. The tracking should be toed-in half-way through Nissan's spec range, and the wheels need balancing on the car ideally. When it's right, the steering is rock solid at any speed.
