OT: Snails

Has it left a trail? I wouldn't expect one to climb up a tyre, but perhaps it has by-passed this via a tree or shrub?

Some birds pick up and drop snails on to hard objects, to try and break the shell.

Too wet to see a trail, today. There aren't any plants nearby. I did think of a bird dropping it, but didn't think it would leave it behind uneaten. Actually, I get about one snail each year, so it must be something like that. It would be a bit of an odyssey for your average snail, and I can't see why they would bother in the first place.

Dunno, but I once found one half-way up the drivers door of mine.

Someone two or three doors down throwing one out of their garden?

Nothing unusual.

The damn things will climb anywhere - even up to the the first storey bedroom window of my house. SWMBO moans like hell at the trail of slime they leave on the glass and I am then duly ordered to get the ladders out and clean the window[s].

In her wisdom, once I've got the ladders out, I may as well clean every bloody window in the three storey house - including the conservatory!

There seems to be a plague of them this year. I've been painting the outside of the house and find them everywhere.

Had a rather pretty spider perched on the inside of the car door today too. No idea how it got in.

I don't know why they want to climb up so high, just to die and dry up. A brick surface can't be pleasant for them.

I do that, but not when cars are passing. I lob them high and let them take chances with the landing and the traffic...
