Pug V Mazda?

Hi All,

My step daughters 1.7 Astra diesel estate (with what we are pretty sure is a cracked head) is still running but just (uses water faster than a steam engine).

Within the family there are a couple of spare cars (and likely to be 'cheap') ... both had been used regularly till they were 'upgraded' but sorta left behind, not sold etc.

A Pug 106, L with ~52k on it and a Mazda 323F, M with ~140K.

Both might need new batteries and a good check-over / MOT / service etc but (potentially) nothing more doing.

They do have a kid so the 4 door Mazda wins on that point but what about the other points like reliability, cost of parts and cost of insurance please?

All the best ..

Mazda, Pug, Pug. The Mazda's also thirstier. But then it's a lot nicer.

Hmm, so they would notice the the fuel thing after the diesel (like I did going from the 2L Sierra to the Rover 218SD (but the other way round of course)).

How much ag is a 2 door when you have a 3yr old though (never owning a

2d other than vans)?

All the best ..
