Rover 214 SEI Key Sticking !

Hi

Does anyone have any experience of replacing a Rover 214 SEI (S REG) hatch door barrel. The key stuck fast one day last week and took some time and effort to pull out. The key looks okay so I suspect a faulty lock mechanism. I sprayed some WD40 and later some penetrating oil with graphite into the lock which initially gave a new lease of life to the key operation, although it was still slightly 'sticky' ; however, a couple of days later things worsened again probably the result of the lubricants drying out. Normally I use the remote for locking/unlocking but the lock problem was sent to remind me that if this ever fails (the reason I used the key was due to a low remote battery) I'd be stuck so I'd prefer to get the barrel replaced some time soon. What would be useful to know is a rough idea of the cost of replacement at a garage and/or a DIY runthrough.

Many thanks Larry
