you can't unless you go to ford OR to the local gearbox place
my mate has just killed his dohc 4x4 with abroken timing chain so he might be able to help you out if you were to want to buy the whole car
he's near Wolverhampton if that's any help
Is that an MT75? If so I might know a bloke with a box. JB
Doubt it's worth it, just bought an imacculate 4x4 ghia but it's a bit whiney from the gearbox
whiney from the gearbox
change the fluid for the £20 odd quid it's going to cost you for transfer and main gearbox it's the best way to eliminate old fluid as being the problem for the rear diff you have to remove the cover plate (and ancillaries) and for the front you have to remove the sump plate to get rid of the oil fluid well worth it just for doing it
as for the whine, it is going to be the needle bearings in the main shaft OR the main input shaft bearing breaking up other possibilities are the spigot bearing which tends to just wear out
trying to get replace parts for the DOHC 2.0i 4x4 might seem impossible, until you remember that internally they are the same gears as any other MT75 box rwd or 4wd if you need to source another box then get the normal 2.9 V6 box and get mr gearbox place to swap over the front casing (the only difference) and put it back into the car again :)
