if it is the solenoid of the starter going click AND the lights remain bright, then most likely fault is starter brushes or solenoid burnt contacts.

Mrcheerful Thanks!

I have checked my Starter motor connecting with my Battery and works perfect. The brushes fine too.

try putting power directly to the solenoid energising wire (the little one) if the starter then works fine on the vehicle then you likely have a problem with the ign switch or wiring between.

just fit a remote switch, it only has to supply power to the solenoid when you press it.
