I wash my car with plain water, and put some turtle wax polish on it every few months. There aren't many cars that match the shine on mine, even brand new ones look dull parked next to mine. I think the Turtle wax stuff is an 'extreme' something or other, but I don't think they sell that one anymore. The polish only seems to make a small difference to the shine.
