Hello again all.
My beloved Rover still hasn't died, and it's that time of year again, MoT time.
This I know:
1) I need four new tyres, tracking has been out and although there's LOADS of tread left on them, 1/8th of the sides is bald.
2) This is likely to be an MoT failure (although they didn't notice it last time)
3) MoT runs out 8th August.
4) I can't afford new tyres until 15th August (Pay day!)
We also have another car in the household that has five new (steel) tyres, and yes, they do fit on my car (Just tried one). The issue is that the tyres are the same ratings and all that, but they're 1" bigger all round, meaning the "hub-caps" won't fit on from the Rover.
I'll leave the caps off (Vauxhall caps on a 9 year old Rover probably won't look all that good!) but otherwise, will it be okay for its MoT?
IIRC, my Rover tyres are 175/65R14 and the 2001 Astra's are 1" bigger.
