I've got two nails in one of my tyres (front near side). I've got the spare on, and need to do something about the nails. What do you think I should do? My dad suggested getting it repaired, is this a good idea? Both fronts have LOADS of tread (they were on the rear until recently), but are cracking due to age. The rears are... well buggered, so I don't want them on the front (they don't aqua plane on the back).
I think only one of tha nails has actually gone into the tyre, and it isn't loosing any air. My dad sprayed some leak detector on it, he said 'I don't like driving on spares', I told him it's better than driving with two nails in it! Tommorrow's going to be very slow though on the spare, and I'll probably do a different route.
Anyway I'll be getting the work done at National Tyres because it's across the road from where I work. I never considered replacing just the one on it's own, but it seems that my dad didn't even consider replacing both. He thinks I'd be mad to replace both when only one is faulty :o.
Anyway my options are to repair it (if it can be repaired), or replace both. I'll also need to decide which type of tyres to get. It's a V reg 899cc Fiat Seicento SX btw.
