I need to bring a 12v 30Amp supply into my Zafira cabin. Ideally this will be taken straight from the battery so as to minmise any RFI problems. There is no obvious way to bring any extra power feeds through the firewall (others have tried & failed !) and the local Vauxhall dealer confirms no spare grommets. Has anyone managed to persuade cabling through ? I would prefer not to resort to drilling the firewall and may at a push pick up the requisite power from behind the main fusebox (although this does not look easy to expose in itself. Many thanks. We install Motorola Radio's with Data Systems into Zafira's used as Taxi's & we have to take the power from the main power input on the fuse box, though not the best option but better than drilling through the bulkhead
Thanks for the response. I feared this was the option that I might have to take. Any tips on removing the fusebox quickly & easily to get at the main power feed ? I'll try this as the first option and if any RF gets into places it shouldnt I may have to resort to the drill !! Thanks
Am I missing something? Why is it so bad to drill through the bulkhead (provided you use a just-big-enough drill and a grommet, obviously...
