Window Tints

Good to see that the Police are going to get heavy on window tints

If the front windscreen is illegal the Police will ensure you get a trailer - If its just the front windows promise you drive to the garage to "remedy" the issue with your front windows down

Despite all the anti-police / only an extra tax screaming from some folks Its amazing the more the police are Zero tolerant about minor infringements the more serious crime is reduced

I was surprised that the "privacy" glass level of a MINI is the acceptable;e level - all Chryslers with the privacy glass sold in the UK is legal and as far as the independents who will do anything for the cash - will they start telling folks about the legal limit?

Are you saying it is illegal to have your front side windows tinted?

The windscreen was a six inch strip at the top, this now not the case?

Just asking, gARY

You can tint your windscreen and your side windows, provided they meet the C&U regulations. The regulations were amended last year, to clarify that minimum light transmission through window glass included any films or tints that may be applied. Your windscreen must pass 75% of the light through, the side windows forward of the B pillar 70%.

Is it legal to throw a brick through a tinted window to identify a driver who has just carved you up, or must you use the approved tool?

Why do you want to see their face... number plate is a far better identifier..

The Police normally require details of the driver i.e. mail, female, colour, etc. as well as the index number.

Good reason not to have tints, then.

Besides - their number plates are usually in un-readable Arabic Flourish script. :-)
