Where would be the best and cheapest place to buy a new throttle potentiometer for a mk1 Mondeo 1.8L (petrol)? Ford seem to want about £70! FFS! cheers, JB

You could try some of the electronics suppliers like

I found a suitable electrical replacement for the one on my Rover Lucas EFI system, but it wasn't a direct replacement. Look for 'rotary position sensors' It may also be possible to open up the old one and re-position the wiper onto an unworn part of the track - or simply clean it. Depends on how much you want to save a few quid. ;-)
