About the same as a '96, little less than a '93, little more than a '95

What is the composition of the Miata hardtop under that paint?

Fiberglass or something similar. AFAIK, they only weigh around 40 pounds.

It's definitely some sort of plastic/resin stuff. Don't know if it's got fiber reinforcement or not.
And that's mostly the window.
