We've had our 95 Miata for 5 weeks now and are just having a ball! I haven't received our plates yet so I removed the front plate bracket to straighten it out, a little bent, not bad. My question is: How many of you in Illinois run without a front plate? I have several friends with Corvettes and they never run with a front plate, and between them, only one has been stopped in the past twelve years for not having it, and then only received a slap on the wrist (he still didn't put the plate on). Another friend has a pickup truck without a front plate, and again, never stopped for that specifically, but stopped for other things. Should I chance it? It looks so clean without it hanging there!
