have checked glow plugs and power supply all ok. Changed fuel filter and filter head and inserted non return valve on fueline. when starting fires up ok but seems airlocked and won't rev for twenty seconds, smokes, then runs ok and starts ok for rest of day. if left overnight same symptons. Any ideas?

i have the same problem with my 2.8 td shogun could you please let me know if you managed to resolve yours
i have the same problum with my 2.8td shogun when starting from cold could you please offer any advice as to the repair.
I too have the typical starting problem with air-locks getting in somehow. OK for a few hours after use but overnight the fuel line gets full of air; eventually this clears and the car runs fine.
It is NOT apparently the fuel pump seals which I am told are sound.
It has been a long-term problem which has gradually got worse over the last two/three years. I anyone really knows what is going on I would like to know - so would my repair mechanic!
