Another modified car for the fleet.

Well, this time I think I might have overdone it a touch.

It's something similar to this....

formatting link
It's not such a tarty colour inside or out - metallic blue with insanely leathery interior (Pimptastic), 3.5 V8 Auto with Janspeed turbo conversion. It's an '87 so at least the bits are easy to get.

I've known this thing for years, an old engineer friend of mine bought it off someone well known (but I can't remember who it was) had it for about 12 years, then sold it to the guy who I've just bought it off.

I will be investigating more about it tomorrow....

Oh dear... I hope yours hasn't that kind of semi-white, later yellowing in a bad way leather.

Been invited to a party a week ago where one of the guest had to show off arrived in a white Range Rover, bright white out AND in.

One of those cars where I would take my shoes off to enter it but I didn't dare to sit in the car. Nice in the obscene way I guess. :-)

Good luck with the V8 turbo. Seems as everybody now the earth is warming, goes for the good old US-way. Keep up the good work! I like the climate as it is right now.

Probably more than is wise, but half what the previous keeper paid for it.

I'm being good to the environment by owning this ol' V8 Turbo. Somebody richer than me would use it on a daily basis, I'm only going to use it when I feel rich, so I'm doing the world a favour.

I hope the interior is in better nick than the one in the photo. That looked in need of the Gliptone recolouring kit.

Nice motor, but personally I'd rather have the Overfinch.

So would I, but I've been chatting to the original owner today, it turns out it was built for a friend of mine who was involved in developing the turbo installation with Janspeed.

Spec is pretty much this, Janspeed fully blueprinted engine with turbo conversion (engine rebuilt and re-blueprinted at 80k miles), uprated GM 4 speed overdrive auto box, Harvey-Bailey Engineering anti-roll bars, W&P interior ( cost £15k in '87), rear air suspension (not the Land Rover one, this is a custom setup adjustable from the dash), W&P one off one piece tailgate (hinges from roof like a normal tailgate), double skinned roof - normal Rangie roof with fibreglass cover trimmed with that stuff they use for Rolls Royce vinyl roofs), electric seats (which if memory serves me right are Recaro), electric roof, wilton carpets, uprated aircon, cruise, custom made stainless tubular manifolds, and loads of other bits I've not looked at yet.

Don't pick it up for a couple of weeks, have to wait for a flexy exhaust balance pipe from Janspeed before I take it for the MOT.

Is it a single turbo or twin? What turbo(s) is it running? Is it injected or

*shudder* blow through carbies?

Correct answers would be twin GT28s and injection. : )

Single turbo, not sure I think it's running a T3, injection.

Will know more when I pick it up, I'm quite looking forwards to it.
