assuming you are talking about a ford transit thing :) the best way to check is to look where the earth straps go from the battery normally they will go to a few bolts in the battery try and to the engine too
Not another REMUS :) the battery try in mine and my friends minibusses are battery trays, do this make a difference :)

Can't help thinking that I haven't heard of anything positive earth for about 20 years prior to that.
