Here the VX is not that rare because dealers are obliged to take one in.=20 They seem to be very hard to sell.

Lotus however even hasn't an official importer in Belgium and the 3=20 dealers gaurd the market quite good.

If your back gives you trouble, then there are better cars than V6 clio,=20 VX or Elise. On top of that: not one of those cars is made for every day=20 use.

You need the car Carl just bought, no: not the Range ;-).=20

Do not think for one second that when a Clio V6 of VX goes wrong you=20 will have to worry about a 20 UKP-coil.

All the stated cars are no compromise cars: they do very good for what=20 they are designed. They are definitely bad for what most cars do 95% of=20 the time.=20

Get a small van like berlingo or similar and a car like the VX, V6 clio=20 and such. Thinking about insurance in the UK you might even get a more=20 interesting quote. Believe me: it is easier throwing a week's food and=20 beer in a Berlingo than in an Elise...

Well sitting and ride comfort aren't really things that give the back problems, I'm just not that bendy for getting in and out of stuff like the VX heh - but it might get better still, surgery was only 4 weeks ago heh.

Well, I can always borrows mum an dads Mondeo estate if needs be heh. It's very rare I have to put anything in the boot anyway, hence I just want something fun and exciting :-) Practicality isn't really an issue, and I don't do a lot of miles, so I'm reasonably confident I could get away with such a machine for my only car. And as I say, I can always borrow the Mondeo if I really need to. I like the Clio V6 purely for the crazyness hehe, and the fact getting in and out is like a normal car. I'm not too bothered about the fuel costs, cos I say I don't do that many miles anyway, and it'll require less 'specialist' care I suspect than a VX would - so my local indepedant garage should be able to handle the servicing.... If not, RS Tuning in Leeds 70 miles away are specialists with the V6 (which is where I'd take it for any major work heh).

We'll see, I won't be buying for, probably 2 months anyway. Wait and see how my back heals, and await that new car post ;-) Then I'll have to pop over and do a trackday at Spa with you Tom haha :-D

I think you're probably wrong there - the VX is probably the easiest car to get serviced. Afterall the engine can be found in thousands of Astras.

Yea but there are weird things to remember, like if you want to use a 4 post ramp, you need to remove the rear undertray heh. And things like, removing the front clam, are a bit irritating if you don't know what you're doing.

That's true but practicallity is going to the supermarket and buying a few crates of beer, going out with the GF and leaving the car in a parking lot or out in the street, having no garage and getting in it during winter etc etc

But I know what you seek when you say "fun and exciting" : I am jsut back from inspections in Brussels and because it is evening and good weather, I went with the Elise, no roof on.

Got my picture (well the car actually) taken at the red light by some girls with their cellphone. Imagine that! I am bloody 40 years old :-)

The Elise with stainless sport exhaust sounds like a bomber in the tunnels. Yeah, I am beginning to like the Elise a lot...

Everybody is entiteld to his grain of craziness, some of us got a sack of grains on our head. So go for it. You can whine and complean later but I assure you : when you get it, it is a special moment.

Good, quick and definitif healing wished for your back and whissle when you are around !

You see these things are important hehe :-p. The Clio has enough boot space for a couple of crates of booze, and there's always the passenger footwell.

Hehehe sweet :-D

Doing laps of Spa in a Clio V6 would indeed be awesome...
