ABS, climate control, electric windows, electric mirrors, heaps of sound deadening etc etc etc. It all adds up to extra weight.

It all depends. I normally set off in WRX at 1000rpm and keep it off boost. If I have some d*****ad in a Commodore next to me who wants to race I rev to

4k and slip the clutch. But it's nice to have the choice.

Because I believe that a milk float is not faster than a 450bhp supra engined charger off boost and that in any sort of sensible race (i.e. using the gearbox), turbo lag in the charger would not allow sufficient time for the milk float to disappear into the sunset.

I did sums and everything.

I never said anything to refute your obviously superior knowledge of turbos.

If you say so.

Oh, the irony.

Yes it is.

Off boost the engine is not making enough exhaust to spin the turbo any faster - not enough gas flow.

Lag is when the inertia of the turbo's internals mean it has not yet reached the speed to which the exhaust flow would drive it - plenty gas flow.

The FQ400 with a low static CR and long duration cams will take an age, under load, to rev enough to start suffering lag due to its humongous turbo.

Well I wouldn't exactly call it superior... ;)

Very good. Except I wasn't talking about drag racing..

You can f*ck off now.

I'd agree, except, I've seen a a picture of that Charger ;)

I like them because they are so, er... eccentric.

They do have a certain something about them. They're very antipodean.

Obviously, I'd like a Force 7V.
