It appears that I am going to buy this one.

It appears that I am going to buy this one.
Fraser
thats terrible mate, dont do it.
it says hemi, i thought hemi's were V8's... oO
It won't. It'll crawl like a dog. THe reason they have a V8 is cos they're shit heavy. Whilst you're waiting for the turbo to spin up on the Supra motor, that milkfloat you saw will have vanished off into the sunset.
Ah, but the key there is 'Turbos' not 'Turbo' :-) It has one small one for grunt from no revs, should be enough to get you moving
Personally, I think what you've just said Conor is utter, utter bullshit on so many levels. (c:
We'll see.
Douglas
Whilst it's quite obviously bullshit, it's still wrong to put a Supra engine in a Charger.
Nice to see you know f*ck all about turbos. Look up turbo lag. Also you might pause to think why you hear alot of popping on WRC cars...that'll be the anti-lag system.
Ah, so, a 450bhp car is slower than a milk float unless it has an anti-lag system?
I smell bullshit, and I think its coming from your house.
Douglas
Did you just completely ignore my bit about twin turbo's? Its effectively anti-lag as the smaller turbo is a weeny little thing.
Kick out the straight six, sure - no issues with that. Nice engines, but weak.
But it must have a v8. Find a v8 and give it some welly. Listen to it, let it cuddle you into the seat, let it press you onto your back and make you fight against it, and then make it your friend, take its power for yourself, and let it drag the car off against the dull inertia of Newton.
And then you won't bother with a straight six engine - it's not the same as a v8. Er, sorry, yes you can get slightly more peak power with something like a turbo diesel or a v10 or whatever... do I look convinced? ;)
Lets make a lot of assumptions.
On an almost perfectly flat surface, like a mudflat, or beach and assuming that the height of your line of sight in a Charger was about
4'6" from the ground, I've worked out that the horizon is about 2.8 miles away.To cross the horizon, or disappear into the sunset would take a milkfloat over 5 minutes, assuming it could reach and sustain 30mph, and that the milkfloat was flat.
From my very rough maths above, what you seem to have stated above is that the turbocharger(s) on a 450bhp Supra engine would take more than 5 minutes simply to spin up in the absence of an anti-lag system.
In reality, the milkfloat is a lot taller than 0'0" so would take much, much longer to disappear into a sunset than 5 minutes.
I may know f*ck all about turbos, but I know that you talk utter, utter bullshit.
Douglas
ROFL, just how much turbo lag do you think a Supra with 450bhp would have? Anti-lag is for where every fraction of a second counts and replacing the exhaust manifold and turbo every few hundred miles isn't a problem. Do you think a WRC car would be really slow if it didn't have anti-lag?
There is no point at all in doing that engine conversion on so many levels Fraser... I can't be asked to list them all.
If you want a supra engine, buy a supra or somthing similar. If you want a muscle car, then make sure it has a V8 otherwise it defeats the purpose since you have a WRX right? Well you will just have a slower, heavy, bad handleing version of that without the v8 roar if you put that supra engine in... imo.
No because it is correct. Fuckwit Douglas is telling me I don't have a clue about turbos and then goes on to amply demonstrate his complete ignorance.
IT WAS AN ILLUSTRATION YOU DUMB SHIT. And yes, you know f*ck all about turbos.
Alot. You didn't see the test on Top Gear did you when they drag raced a Renault Espace and over 1 mile from a 30 MPH rolling start in 5th, it won.
Argh!
Now, I know you're a YMF, but there's a thing called a 'gearbox', now, I know this is pushing the envelope a little, but it allows you to select a different gear ratio. I know, astounding, isn't it? - I mean, who'd have thought it.......
No, you accused me of not knowing anything about turbos. I never said I knew the first thing about them.
Please get your facts straight.
Douglas
Let's be honest, do you think it was a good illustration you big sweary trucker?
