Yes it will. If you want to get it back, replace the inlet manifold with one with longer runners from the plenum to the head. You will get lower down torque, and keep the top end power you have released.

If it's K reg or later, just be sure to use new nuts and bolts, as it makes it *so* easy to re-cat it, MOT time.

you've lost back pressure, so the pulses in the manifold that help to produce the lower end torque no longer have the same effect but your breathing further up is improved due to less restriction

So get it lightened and balanced pray the ARP's are as good as everyone says some spanking new valvetrain gear and rev to 9k ?

lol what do you have in mind to make your ecotech capable of 9k rpm?

proven good for 7750 rpm at least but it depends on what else he's going to do, lightened flywheels tend to go "shatter" on the odd occasion :)

I was thinking along the lines of his crank, pistons, rods and oil feed... plus allot of other things to get a reliable 9k in a road car that will make it run like total s*it outside of thrashing its nipples off.

You are of course right, I should of restrained myself to refering in particular to robs specific engine.

Only if you like picking up pistons from the side of the road after they have shot through your block.
