Mainly aimed at FJ but it's been a while so hi to the nosey parkers.

Been in India for several months, enjoyed the South but got a bit fed up in the North so bought one of those Indian-made Royal Enfield Bullet 350 things. Marvellous in an old kind of way, if you can put up with '50s British design combined with Indian build quality erm...

Anyway the bike didn't cure my problems (but riding through Delhi on a Friday lunchtime is interesting to say the least) so we're moving on.

The upshot is, and this is the bit that concerns Fraser, I'll be landing in Perth (very cheap to fly there from Delhi with a longish stopover in KL for a rummage round SE Asia) in early April. I want to buy a van. Possibly a ready converted camper thing but I can live in a normal van with a mattress thrown in the back. Believe me it'll be better than some places I've stayed in India.

Something like this would be good, and is actually a little below budget.

Know any for sale, is this type of thing a good choice? Don't know the market, y'see.

Hope everyone's good.

A lot of Hiace things are used as hire campers, so I expect they'll be pretty tough. Just remember that SA has no MOT equivalent (not sure about the other states)...

Give me a buzz when you hit perth. 041 717 9741. We can go shopping. A Toyota Liteace for $2 grand is pretty good. Other popular options include Ford Falcon and Commodore station wagons.

WA doesn't. You just buy the thing and pay the stamp duty on the registration swap over. You only need the vehicle inspected if the cops pull it over and think it is dodgy. Fairly rare.

Forgot to mention. Try

for cheap bangers.

Cool, thanks. BTW in Nepal right now. The Himalayas... ROCK.

Baddum-tish. You lucky bastard. :-)

Look out for my mate Gary, he's got a camera. I know he's somewhere in that general direction in a place with mountains.
