Ah, another of those, "I've never driven a decent RWD" people" ;)

Ah, shut the f*ck up ;)

Only joking, but it is tiresome listening to people come out with comments like "The Punisher". He hasn't driven the car and is just posting a throw away statement like a moron, which is what me and Dan where re-acting to. Not that it has got anything to do with decent rwd/fwd cars, just the snobbish idiotic behaviour. Not to say The Punisher is an "idiotic snob", I don't know him and he doesn't post frequently enough for me to have an opinion on his 'net' personality/taste in cars.

If you enjoy driving, RWD is better*. It just is.....

*I'm not saying it's safer, cheaper, cleaner, more heterosexual or that it takes a "real" man to drive one, it's just "better" :)

I don't know about that having driven IF-4 F-F F-R M-R and R-R my number one best drive would be the M-R Elise but my number two would be a F-F classic mini. (third place goes to a R-R WW2 off road vehicle) FWD and RWD are different beasts but it's hard to pin one down as being more fun than another there are some very dull FWD cars out there and equally dull RWD cars, a good or bad set-up is just as if not more important than the driven wheels. IME 4wd has been the most disappointing in fun terms (admittedly my 4wd experience isn't vast the quickest being a prodrive Impreza very quick but not much fun) but the sure footed nature is reassuring driving.

The big thing is that most cars are now designed to understeer as it's considered more controllable and safer so you need to push a car right to the limits before you can tell much difference, older cars of any drive layout are in my opinion more fun than newer ones due to modern design practice is to provide a relaxing drive deprived of input from the road.

I don't need to have driven it to know it's slower than my mates car,

Infact I bet my BMW would probably beat it.

Corvette engined grandad. Fantastic. Are the engines dear?

What does that have to do with the driven wheels? Sure your beemer would launch better, and assuming its some kind of performance variant (330/530 or above) may well be quicker yes, but thats not because they're RWD.

Your mate's car is not fast just because its RWD though is it, wankface?

I bet my dad is bigger than your dad.

I thought we were in the XR3 thread there, clearly the beemer would NOT be quicker. And once moving, i'm not sure the Granada would be either.

Quite a few FR car understeer if you go too quick into a corner, that's as much to do with the locations of mass and suspension setup as the driven wheels. It's more on the way out of bends that RWD will help make things fun.

A proper RWD car has it's gearbox in the boot ;-)

No a proper RWD car has it's engine in the boot.

I spit on your S200 engine.

100bhp from 800cc :-)

Fuck, that's pretty damned good for a car - my bike is putting out

125bhp / litre vs. the car at 120bhp / litre.

Niiiiiiiiice. :-)
