i'll miss the MK1 :(

2 weeks and the MKII turbo hits the UK and a week or 2 after that i get my grubby mits on it and i can't wait!

but i'll be sad to see my MK1 go :( was a real hoot to drive home from work today, hardly a person about on the road for some reason when i left.so i had room to use the right foot!

i went round a few roundabouts at a good 45-50 (quite sharp roundabout too) and the car just grips so tight to the road then shoot of down the small dual carrigeway to the next and quick left right left to go staright across and again held like glue!

i love my MK1 to bits! the handerling is spot on! the MKII won't handle like it though, i throw that around it'll bite me in the ass! still the turbo should give a nice kick in the spine off roundabouts :)

Not another "manufacturers upgraded model".

5% more bhp .... but 20% more chassis weight????

Maybe try getting a clue before posting in future eh? His new MR2 weighs more than your AX, but will stick kicks it ass, as standard, how shocking is that!?

220bhp and weighs in at around 1100kg's

Mk1 is 122bhp and weighs in at 950kg's

torque is shit loads more on the MKII turbo, over double over the MK1

How old is it and is it standard as it's a right pain importing a modded car now.

For the benefit of those too lazy: Vamp has a MK1 Toyota MR2, he's getting a MK2 MR2 Turbo soon.

Mr Fix It is a advocate of old, light cars. He has(had? - haven't heard of it in a while) a Citroen AX that is modified a bit and is allegedly quite good fun, cos its old and light.

See the archive for tales of how it left X, Y and Z standing.

A Mk2 turbo lump into the Mk1 would be better still. The Mk1 isn't a hairdressers car like the Mk2. ;)

Do ya miss me??? To busy working, so i can afford to insure my tvr cerbera, i've stuck to my preference of oldish and light. The trouble is ... the tvr shouts its performance at everyone, the ax was the true wolf in sheeps clothing. Ax soon to be sold b.t.w (tough engine ... i couldn't break it!!)
