Would that be the boyfriend or the father? Thought it was a bird who ran into you.

She was 18 apparently, and passed her test 3 weeks ago, also the police asked if I wanted to press charges and I said no, so everyones happy,

except you if your insurance company find out. If you ever need to claim from them they will claim that the work wasn't carried out to their specification and they have no way of knowing if it was done correctly. Seen it happen with someone that had their car locks tampered with. He changed them himself and everything was fine until the car was stolen, the insurance company found out he had the locks fitted himself after an attempted theft and they refused to pay out claiming the work wasn't ok'd by themselves, that they had no idea if the car was locktight after the repair.

Best thing to do is keep quiet about any repairs you do yourself.

But I'd guess Ronny got it done by an Audi main dealer (though £120 seems a bit cheap) and I can see very little comeback - it's quite a different situation to something like locks, but I can see your point.

they allegedly use brokersthat specialise in customised cars and certainly dont stick as hefty apreimium on the mods as some insurance companies I rang.. in the end got adeal that was ~£100 better than Tesco.net, who were pretty much the cheapestat the time. However, I don't know how much discount I got from being in theRover owners club. (probably not alot) Bigus

In article , snipped-for-privacy@ron10.com spouted forth into uk.rec.cars.modifications...

Split the difference, pay her dad £250, and ask his permission to find out.

Dojj mate. Similar here.

The insurance for the Saab is due in October, so I thought I would start grabbing some quotes.

It was suggested I try Footman James, as there multi car policies are competitive, one guy with 6 limited mileage cars, all covered fully comp, and all can be used upto the 6k max each, for £500.

So I figured, what the hell, get a quote. I think getting a quote while the staff are pissed from a Friday lunch time drink is a bad idea.

It came in the post this morning. £950 fully comp, with £200 excess. I'm expecting to see somewhere arround £500-£550 from LV when they send the renewal, and that is with a £350 excess. Bit of a difference isn't it.

850 T5-R, 850 T5, or 850R?

The T5R is gonna be the most expensive to insure, I'd imagine, as it was the original, proper "limited edition" one...try a straight T5 or R, it may make a difference!
