looks like the scooby bubble has burst

And thus it begins, brother.

If you can't afford to buy or run the turbo, but want people to think you can, i guess that's fine ;-) You'll be needing one of those fake dump valve speakers though :-D

Was. Just not many of them :) And only on special order through Scooby. It was never maintstream released in the dealers tho.

I'm pretty sure the RB5 had more power as well.

It does - you learn something every day !

Although I'm not sure that 16 individual imports, count as "officially available" :)

There's 16 of the 22B in existance too - see SteveH's post. I didn't know anything about that.

I'm starting to show signs, but fighting it all the way.

Why? - it's easy to spot a Sport - they don't have the bonnet scoop.

It's not all about straight line performance. The Impreza Sport is a genuinely good car, it's just a bit lacking in straight line speed.

You'll have to get one of them stuck on as well then - Ripspeed sell them IIRC ;-)

They only make about 120bhp or summet measley don't they? And aren't they still 4wd? So that would be quite sapping in a straight line.

123bhp, ISTR. Enough to get to 60 in just a tad over 9 secs. Not great, but acceptable, IMHO. The handling / grip makes up for it.

22B is a proper 2 door coupe the rest are sad wannabe 4 door family saloons and estates for people who can't tell the difference (spare doors are a 100+Kg to start with).

It's like the difference between a 3 door RS500 and the 4 door family saloons.

More than 66 22B in UK (out of a few more than 400 made). They had brought 50 in before Subaru woke up and supplied 16 at stupid money - hence lack of sales against gray import 22B. Same sort of thing as Skyline GT-R, lots in UK but Nissan only sold 6 in the last year they were officially listed. This was helped by only having 6 dealers that could supply Skyline GT-R. Ask for something better than a QX at any other Nissan dealer and they would tell you to go away. Wouldn't even tell you the GT-R was available, happy to let Nissan lose the sale than give trade to another Nissan dealer.

There's also 'cooking' 2 doors available as import. Think they're STi spec, but I could be wrong.

Even an idiot can't get a wannabe EVO (aka Lancer) confused with the real thing.

Strange, the Sapphire Cosworth is well known for handling a lot better than the Sierras. The Sapphire shell is stiffer despite having two more doors. Mainly because it's not a hatch.

Figures are wrong, but the story is right.

34 "Unofficial" 22Bs made it here, with 16 "official" ones. The type approval regs made it very awkward to get more than 50 imported in one year.

Little silly thing about 22Bs, for those interested. They made 399 instead of 400, because they didn't want to make one with the number 13.

Amazingly, you're correct :-p

NERDSSSSSSSSSSSS! sorry but the info is getting really nerdy round here :)

Exactly, nothing the Japs make looks anywhere near as nice as an Integrale.

This is pub stats fodder. Its grat when having a pint then tosser boy says my 1999 WRX came from the factory with 290BHP at the wheels, you know he really is a tosser, and if you are feeling particularly cruel, you can tell him so.
