Does anyone know how to get rid of a great big raging stiffy ?



After a few days negotiations I've bought another car to go with the mr sensible diesel passat - although, it's the same colour.

The best thing about it ?



Insuance is 180 quid a year fully comprehensive with agreed value. I pick it up on tuesday and can't wait. The road between thee and here is ideal for this type of car as well....



I feel this may be my year for some hillclimbs !

That's a good old honest to goodness ford crossflow or 'Kent' - as used in a million and one Formula Ford cars before the zetec was invented and also in Clubmans 'A' cars for approximately 800 years. Bear in mind that a modern multivalve engine can make 165bhp no problem and tick over like a swiss watch. To make the same from one of these babies meant steel bottom end, zero tractability and frequent rebuilds. This one makes rather less -

110/115bhp - but there ain't nothing like the sound of a xflow on webers at full chat. There was a crossflow in this car here

- thispicture would be in the mid eighties - maybe about 1983 - and the mandriving it was a real authority on the subject. His engines were used inpromotional material for kent cams at that time and this one was widelyregarded to be about as highly developed as they got. This one made 190bhpand sounded absolutely magnificent - big big revs and open webers.

Ford 1700 X flow. Should be around 130bhp.

What did I tell you on MSN, Dan? - ISTR it was 'some sort of Ford lump, CVH or Kent, most likely some sort of Kent', so that's a pretty damned close guess from a single pic :-)

Steady on - maybe a bit tight for a superchaged one, although a normal 4AGE would be more than possible -
