They've only got a few left (in fairness, they have about 20 left, but I might want the ONE remaining Strato blue one. Okay, I won't... but still. I can't see that deal hanging around for long).

FWIW, I found VERY comparable deals online - this is £1K+23; at 3+23 I found a few for £219/month - basically the same rate and still less than the 116's typical prices.

Heh, we had all this stooshie last time Richard was choosing a car. He chose a 1.6. Beetle. Cabrio. He took a beating for that when the other cars on the list included stuff that we liked, but I suspect that as a man who had neons fitted to his Citroen CX, he just doesn't care. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if he just chose the BMW to piss people in here off.

Heee, my CX looked alright with neons on.

The Beetle... well, I stand mostly by that decision. It hasn't been amazing in that it leaked, but it has been very comfortable, tolerably practical (the boot is a joke in that the access is awful, but it has rear seats) and quite pleasant to drive, quite competent.

I'd have found an MX5 too impractical, and that's why it isn't on the list this year despite the fact that I really, really want one! If it wasn't for the Sera I'd have got a random estate car as my second car.

Haven't made enough use of the softtop (we had the weather for it, but... I don't know, the appeal has worn off after 10 years of running cabrioletss). And I miss proper handling.

The 116, despite what silly journos have to say, does handle very nicely. But I'd have to be mad to choose one when the RX8 is actually cheaper.

And if the gf can't stand the RX8 seats, I'll 'suffer' the A-class knowing that I like my dad's old A140 and it is costing less than a Yaris.

Off to try the seats now, in fact. *crosses fingers*

Well... went to the dealer and looked around it. Rear seats - tolerable, quite comfy apart from the blackness from the pillars. Front seats, for me... wow. If Citroen made sport seats...

GF says... not comfortable, but tolerable.

So, tomorrow I call up, set the wheels in motion, and barring any weird changes in our company's circumstances, I'll have a Galaxy Grey RX8 in March :D
