OT: Went all mental Oriental and had a go at making Sushi over the weekend.

Found out that the missus doesn't like Wasabi. Might not like smoked Salmon Does like red pepper and cucumber Hosomaki but won't touch prawn Ngiri.

Been wanting to try this for months, but couldn't find where to get sushi vinigar and Wasabi paste.

Now Tescos sell it, I'm going to start experimenting.

If you're ever in London, go to the Japan Centre on Picadilly. I've worked there a few times, and they have a market/shop in the basement that seems to sell everything!

Loverly. I only visit London about once a decade, so it might still be there. I've been to Berlin and Marmaris more times in the last 5 years than I have to London.

Another place worth going to if you're ever in London is Oriental City in Colindale - a stone's throw from the North Circular/end of the M1, nice all you can eat Chinese there, and supermarkets and stuff that almost certainly cater for Japanese cuisine too.

Heheh, I try not to go often but sometimes you have to work.

Excellent. Although I guess I'm not making real authentic style Sushi, it tasted as good if not better than the supermarket stuff.

I love it, but the problem is once I start I eat too much, especially when I make it myself.

I love the prawn and smoked salmon ones, but I can see how you might=20 have trouble then.

But yes, gorgeous. I used to pick up a small =A31 pack at Sainsburys to have with my lunch.=20 now I can make my own. Must get some sesame seeds.

Nice isn't it, unfortunately I'm allergic to shellfish so I need to be careful.

Ever been to a "Yo! Sushi"? Bit of a different experience and not really as expensive as you might expect.
