'ere, Rob, someone's pinched your driving lights and badges...
Richard
Yes, but don't get complacent, you've still got a *long* way to come.
And please quote what you're replying to :-)

I hate to say this, but that actually looks ok.
I'm with Steve H on hating the grille, but otherwise it doesn't look bad at all.
It's lowered too far to handle well, but that was to be expected.
Oh, I think it looks very tidy, just that it'll be s*it to drive with those mods.
Some people actually like those mods though.
Mate of mine bought a really tidy, 125000 mile 8v GTi the other week for £175.. completely standard, drove well.
He's since taken my advice and fitted decent gas shocks all round, new top mounts, and slightly uprated -30mm springs.
Took a while to get all the geometry perfect as the camber is easily cocked up on a Mk2, but it's a lovely car now and the corner weights are within reason.
Handles perfectly, rides well, and doesn't shake out your teeth on every pothole. Doesn't rattle either.
Shame it's a Digipants one though.
What did the work set him back?

Not much, IIRC the shocks were around £175 for the set, the springs were around £80, the top mounts were whatever genuine VW ones cost, and the setting up was about £30. Fitting was done by me for £40.
